I strongly believe in a dual relationship between the therapist and the client, that the work
in therapy will be done collaboratively. As the therapist, I will help you to identify the
problem and to discuss ways to help you expand your ability to tolerate change and to identify
degrees of healthy functioning. Rather than focusing on pathology, I am more interested in
growth, both mentally and emotionally.
My approach to therapy is integrative, however, I extrapolate greatly from the
Psychodynamic umbrella because I believe that the psychodynamic theories Traditional Freud Models, Self Psychology,
Ego Psychology, and
Object Relations best explains how we view ourselves and how we are impacted by the relationships we have with others. I often draw treatment from
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),
Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Structural Therapy.
